Of the 12 theaters I submitted my play to, I have received 2 or 3 rejections and shouldn’t expect the other responses for a few months (or at least that’s how long the Dramatists Sourcebook tells me I’m supposed to wait.) But last night, I got my first inkling of hope: a literary manager at one of the theaters wrote me an email saying she liked my synopsis and wanted to see a 10-page sample. Okay, so I’m not a star yet… but in the world of financial fear and future uncertainty and career pessimism that I live in, this little something from a woman named Becca is a little glimmer of light.
